In its early stages, diabetes may only manifest as occasional fatigue, dry mouth, or blurred vision, easily mistaken for suboptimal health. When blood sugar is uncontrolled over the long term, blood vessel walls are gradually damaged by glycation, microcirculation efficiency declines, and tissues and organs fall into chronic hypoxia. This hypoxic state in turn exacerbates insulin resistance. The hyperbaric oxygen chamber improves the metabolic environment at the cellular level, enhances insulin sensitivity, and repairs damaged blood vessels and nerves, opening a new adjunctive pathway for diabetes management that goes from glucose control to tissue repair.

What is Diabetes?
Diabetes is a group of metabolic diseases characterized by chronic hyperglycemia, resulting from insufficient insulin secretion and/or impaired insulin action. It can be understood as a serious malfunction in the body’s energy regulation system. Insufficient or poor-quality insulin prevents glucose in the blood from entering cells to be utilized, causing it to accumulate in the blood and leading to hyperglycemia, while cells are forced to break down fat and protein for energy, triggering a series of metabolic disturbances.
Based on etiology, diabetes is primarily classified into type 1 and type 2. The core pathology of type 2 diabetes is insulin resistance, meaning cells are insensitive to insulin. The systemic microcirculatory impairment caused by hyperglycemia leads to widespread tissue hypoxia, and cells naturally become less sensitive to insulin.
The symptomatic spectrum of diabetes is broad. Classic symptoms include polydipsia, polyphagia, polyuria, and weight loss. Less obvious symptoms include recurrent infections, itchy skin, blurred vision, slow wound healing, and numbness or tingling in the extremities. However, many patients with type 2 diabetes may be asymptomatic in the early stages, only discovering elevated blood glucose during routine check-ups.
Diabetes has clear high-risk populations. Middle-aged and elderly people constitute the main group. Obese individuals have significantly increased risk. Those with a family history of diabetes, women with a history of gestational diabetes, individuals with hypertension or hyperlipidemia, and those with long-term physical inactivity and unhealthy diets are also at risk. In recent years, with lifestyle changes, the onset of type 2 diabetes has shown a明显的 younger trend.
How Does a Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber Treat Diabetes?
Hyperbaric oxygen chamber therapy involves breathing high-concentration oxygen in an environment with pressure higher than atmospheric pressure. When applied to the adjunctive management of diabetes, its core principle is to leverage the physical significant increase in oxygen partial pressure in the blood and tissues to produce a series of positive and profound biological effects targeting the core pathological links of diabetes: tissue hypoxia, insulin resistance, microcirculatory impairment, and nerve damage.
Consider a patient with type 2 diabetes whose blood sugar control is acceptable but who has developed mild peripheral neuropathy or is at high risk for complications. After comprehensive evaluation by an endocrinologist, a decision is made to introduce a home hyperbaric oxygen chamber for adjunctive conditioning, while adhering to the original glucose-lowering regimen and lifestyle interventions. The protocol involves using a mild pressure of 1.5 ATA, with sessions once daily, each lasting 60 minutes, with an 8 to 12-week course for observation and assessment.
Improving insulin resistance and enhancing insulin sensitivity
By improving microcirculation and tissue oxygenation, hyperbaric oxygen provides ample energy to cells, significantly increasing insulin sensitivity. Studies have shown that HBOT can improve fasting blood glucose, reduce insulin resistance, and improve vascular endothelial function.
Promoting healing of difficult wounds such as diabetic foot ulcers
Hyperbaric oxygen multiplies the oxygen partial pressure in wound tissue, stimulates fibroblast proliferation and collagen synthesis, and promotes angiogenesis. It also inhibits anaerobic bacterial growth, enhances white blood cell bactericidal ability, promotes wound healing, and significantly reduces the amputation rate in diabetic foot.
Effectively alleviating symptoms of diabetic peripheral neuropathy
Neuropathy is closely related to ischemia and hypoxia of nerve fibers. Hyperbaric oxygen can improve the microcirculation of the endoneurium, reduce nerve edema, provide repair energy to damaged nerves, and improve symptoms such as numbness and pain in the limbs.
Protecting microvessels and delaying complications
By improving microcirculation and tissue oxygen supply, hyperbaric oxygen helps reduce ischemic-hypoxic damage to target organs such as the retina and kidneys, delaying the progression of complications.
| Key Indicator | Outcome with Conventional Treatment Group | Outcome with HBOT Combined Treatment Group | Core Significance |
| Insulin Resistance | Persistently present | Significantly improved | Enhances insulin sensitivity at the source |
| Fasting Blood Glucose | Limited control | Significantly decreased | Optimizes blood glucose control levels |
| Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy | Persistent symptoms, slow conduction velocity | Overall efficacy significantly improved, nerve conduction velocity increased | Relieves numbness and pain, improves limb function |
| Diabetic Foot Ulcer Healing | Slow healing, high amputation rate | Healing rate increased, amputation rate reduced | Saves limbs, reduces disability |
| Vascular Endothelial Function | Impaired function | Significantly improved | Protects microvessels, delays complications |

Our products are sold both domestically and internationally, with guaranteed quality and pricing, allowing more diabetes patients to access cutting-edge adjunctive rehabilitation technology.
Compared with traditional medical hyperbaric chambers, home chambers offer significant advantages. There is no need to travel to and from the hospital. After completing daily medication and dietary management, users can enter the chamber for conditioning at any time. For elderly patients with blood glucose fluctuations and limited mobility, reducing unnecessary travel is itself a form of protection. The high concentration of negative ions inside the chamber helps stabilize mood and alleviate anxiety, and emotional stability is crucial for blood glucose stability. Negative ions also purify the air inside the chamber, reducing the risk of infection.
The uniformly gentle water circulation system provides a warm and comfortable sensory environment, helping systemic vasodilation, improving microcirculation, and creating optimal conditions for tissue repair. Customizable red light bed: red light photobiomodulation works synergistically with hyperbaric oxygen to further improve microcirculation and promote nerve repair and wound healing.
Our Shell Cabin resembles a Hobbit house, like a fairytale cottage, healing to the heart. Its cute, rounded appearance breaks the traditional rectangular shape of oxygen chambers. The interior is warm and bright, effectively alleviating anxiety about enclosed spaces, bridging the distance between the device and the user, making every conditioning session a pleasant experience of relaxation, and naturally improving treatment outcomes.
Real Case: A Diabetes Patient’s Rebirth
John, a 63-year-old retired teacher from the United States, had an 18-year history of type 2 diabetes. Despite treatment, his blood glucose control had been unsatisfactory, with his HbA1c levels between 8.5% and 9.0%. In the past two years, he began experiencing numbness and stinging in both feet, walking as if stepping on cotton, and nighttime pain prevented him from sleeping. Last winter, a small blister on the little toe of his right foot, caused by shoe friction, rapidly worsened after improper self-treatment. The wound became red and swollen with purulent discharge, and he was diagnosed with a diabetic foot ulcer. Doctors warned that if not controlled in time, there was a risk of toe amputation.
Under the joint evaluation of an endocrinologist and a vascular surgeon, John underwent debridement and anti-infection treatment. The doctor also suggested that he try hyperbaric oxygen as an adjunctive rehabilitation method alongside standard treatment. Hyperbaric oxygen could not only promote the healing of the foot ulcer but also improve neuropathy symptoms and even potentially enhance insulin sensitivity.
First month of conditioning: John underwent 60-minute conditioning sessions each afternoon (1.5 ATA). After one week, he felt that the burning pain in his foot had reduced, and he could sleep more soundly at night. Two weeks later, during dressing changes, the doctor noted that wound exudate had significantly decreased, and fresh granulation tissue began to appear at the edges.
After two months of conditioning: The size of the foot ulcer had significantly decreased, and the surrounding redness and swelling had mostly resolved. What surprised him even more was that the numbness in both feet had also significantly improved, and his sense of balance when walking had improved. He told his doctor that before, his feet could not feel the ground when stepping, but now he could finally step firmly.
After three months of conditioning: He had completed 40 sessions, and the foot ulcer had essentially healed. During follow-up, his HbA1c had dropped from 8.7% to 7.2%, the best level in five years. The doctor told him that HBOT may have helped improve his insulin sensitivity, making the glucose-lowering regimen more effective.
After six months of conditioning: John had developed the habit of conditioning 2-3 times per week. His blood glucose control was more stable. No new ulcers appeared on his feet, and neuropathic symptoms were also largely manageable. He resumed his long-neglected gardening hobby, busy in his garden every morning, with new hope in his life.
